I'm a bit confused by the Club section - what does the club refer to? Another club your a member of, the main club your a member of?
I'm not a member of any racing clubs. I am a member of the SHCV which is not an ASSA affiliate, and cannot be one. And thats it. So what exactly does club refer to?

Some people are members of ASSA as part of their membership of another club. eg WASSA and CSDC. Their membership to these clubs also covers their membership to ASSA. Presently there is a discount rate for these people.

I can see the point in tracking this as part of their membership information. Was not sure about this being on the card. but it may be a way of them knowing this information, for future reference.

OK then we include that section for those who it is relevant to.

I dont mind either versions of the card. I do like the idea of a picture in the back ground though, maybe a little more faded back.
I think less info on the front is better. Perhaps the secondary members could be listed on the back?

I think name and number will have to be hand written.

I don't think we need the Club listed.

I think that something nice and simple is the way to go. In regards to either printing or writing on names on the cards, just remember that Mail Merge is your friend.

KISS principle - Keep it simple, keep colours down, keep cost down. It will go into people's wallet and there it will stay.
Print everything, I suggest have the colour stuff, logo and info list pre-printed on perforated sheets and then we print locally the individual info, say, at the end of each month. Realistically, even though our renewal date is 1 Jan, I am guessing many people don't rejoin until they start training or entering their first race (or am I wrong?) CSDC renewal date is 1 April I think so memberships could be coming in over many months.
I still like the idea of putting ASSA's motto or mission statement on the back to remind people what we do / why they are a member. Jenn

I do like the idea of having the motto/mission statement on the back of the card.
It is easier to just have one person create the cards and then each month fill in the names and print them off - they can be printed onto A4 card and then just cut to size and laminated.
I have a colour printer at my home, a laminater and a guillotine (I'm a school teacher!) and I will put my hand up to do this job each month if needed. All it will cost ASSA is the colour ink cartridges, laminating pouches and the card. Not expensive to set up at all.

The membership cards are an important little step in the members and the sports identity. I would even like to see this extended to be a business type card for NC members to pass around to those they are consulting with in business dealings relating to the sport. [ie: sponsors, partnerships, govt agencies and other outdoor recreation and sporting bodies we are (and hopefully will) be increasingly dealing with more often in the future].
Just for the record I like the idea of photo front image but of Dryland racing as this is our major event type.
Thanks to those who have offered their time and resources to the cards development.

    Cheers

I agree with Rob. The reason why I like the idea of some sort of image, is because the card has to stand out from all the other simple cards we carry around our valet these days. If it is juts another card with some number and letters it just wont stand out. I like the idea of using them as business card as well.

Well, how about photo & assa logo/name on the front.
All membership details on the back?

With a seperate card for committee members to be able to give to people when dealing with outside business & govt bodies?
