OWD Communication issues

In light of recent emails on OWD -I would like to release the ASSA Forum to OWD tonightish. Stating that all ASSA communication will be conducted though it. Information releases relevant to the wider community will be posted on OWD as required.

Can we do it?

We can do it - but you have to let me delete the testing post in general discussion.
Also, if everyone can try and fill in a section to get it start it would be great...

OK i've deleted the test forum, however i don't want it going live until i have received a copt of the current members list.
Can anyone give this to me?

Chez is also thinking that we should have a number of things listed in the members section, such as a treasurers report, a presidents report, secretary's report etc...
Lets have a mini newsletter with ASSA information published in there first.

although you are probably right. Are the reports to be from the AGM?

Are the reports from the AGM good enough?
Or should we do new ones from the new committee?

Perhaps we could do some new ones based on our new direction - it may take quite a while to get the old ones reproduced

Sounds like a great idea!
How about we have this meetin ASAP - those that can get together do, the rest join in from skype, finalise all our reports, publish them in the members section, and then release the forum.

On behalf of the 09/10 ASSA committee it gives me pleasure to announce that ASSA is moving!

As you would no doubt be aware, there is an enormous scope for ASSA to improve on its value to the Sledding community. No matter who we listen to, the common theme of better communication is always present. For so long now we have tied up OWD with our Association business, some good and some bad, but communication all the same.

We are now 10 days into the new year with your elected committee, and we are attempting to provide structure for the future of our sport. With this in mind, next time you are looking to make comment on ASSA related business and would like to assist others with your knowledge or gain experience from someone else, log into the new ASSA Forum.

Sophia and the committee have spent time setting up and tuning the forum, in the hope that it becomes the single source of truth.

We will post updates from time to time on OWD to keep the wider community up to date, however 99% of ASSA communications will be derived from the forum.

OK - i do suggest leaving out mention of the Committee forum. Thats on a need to know basis.
Otherwise they will just bitch about wanting access to it, blah blah blah...

Also let them know that to gain access to the members forum they must enter in their ASSA member number into their profile. And give people and option of how to find out their number if they have no idea.

I have been trying to call Anna. I will keep trying. But agree we can go ahead without them.

Membership numbers would be good, but how are people to know this? I have not yet completed the membership list. OK - I can email members with their membership numbers. This will be good as I was also wanting to confirm their details. But this will take time. Have them email me and I can advise them then - email to assa_vp08


But if you have a 'Public forum" do they need to be ASSA members? Can they get the Public forum initially and once we confirm their membership open them up to the ASSA Members Forum?

Thats the idea Karen - anyone can go to the public forum immediatly - and i'll give them access to the members section once we confirm they are members.
Can anyone give me an up to date members list, or something reasonably up to date?

BTW Andrew - still need an "upcoming meeting & agenda" posted in the members section.
I want this up before people start joining..
