Banners and Membership Cards Empty Banners and Membership Cards

Post by kaiserwolf Wed Nov 18, 2009 3:00 pm

Tamara did a card as an idea, but she needs the Logo to insert it.

Do you want me to get pricing on banners?? I do have some good contacts through my work. What do you we want in regards to banners? Just vinyl double sided with decals, or full digital print on vinyl. Vinyl mesh printed is also a good option as it is better with the wind etc and still looks very good.

I just took the logo off the header on the assa website fo this. Can Tamara do the same thing and resize as needed? Or does she need something a bit more detailed?

Vinyl Mesh sounds interesting for the banners.

I get her to try to do that for now. But we will need the proper artwork/font to do teh cards, as well as any sort of banner art work.

Cards are gonna be awesome - great work!!
Just my opinion - and no offense is meant to those who did the artwork or who owns the dogs - but I really don't like the photo used in the card.
    Just my two cents!!!

The picture is just one we had and it can be changed to anything we like. I do personally like them, it show the dynamics, excitement and power of the dogs. They are from Overseas, so know one in particular, just a picture we took. We didn't want to use a Photo of some of use or anyone else here at this stage.
Maybe in coming years we could have the National Champion on there?
I guess what we need is constructive feedback, so if you don't like the pic state why? and what would people like to see in it if we do have a pic? That's way we can do a few different versions and decide what we like best.

I don't mind the pic - but perhaps just have it on the front?
Maybe a dif pic on the back, or no pic at all? Or vise versa - info on the front, pic on the back?

Yes, I agree. I would say picture on the front and just plain background on the back, maybe black or something.

Banners and Membership Cards Empty Re: Banners and Membership Cards

Post by chippewa Mon Nov 23, 2009 6:20 am

Guys - I thought there were already cards out there.
Also - members already have a number and #1 is Not Cheryl, it is not even Andrew - sorry guys.
Need to remember - Family members - there may be 4-5-6 people to put on the card.

It might be a bit of messing about to have name and number printed on the cards - they may need to be written.

Banners - I am thinking that we would be better off with a number of smaller ASSA banners or more like Flags -that committee can take to events. I believe that there would be more use out of Banners/flags that just have ASSA rather than START/FINISH banners.
If these smaller banners could then be placed on or next to START/FINISH banners - or joined together to form a banner.
    Just trying to maximise usage.

    cheers

Hmm - are these cards a on card for life thing? I don't remember having received a card for a long time. And chez can still tell you she has no idea what her number is lol

I do know mine is 16!

Whether we use the current card style, or the old card style i'm not fussed, but we don't need to send out cards in the new year.

Karen, i like your idea of the smaller banners/flag. Perhaps one smaller banner per state, to be housed with the reps and brought to any assa afilliated event for display?
I think if possible though, you do want a larger one for events such as the National, and if ASSA eventually put on a couple of races ourself?

I am working through Membership list. Has taken longer than I would have orginally estimated.
Some people had more than 1 number and I need to consolidate this back to 1 number. Some have 3 or 4.
eg Soph - yes you are #16, but you also had #121 (? -- this is from memory)
Cheryl -- only had 1 - # 122 (if my memory is correct)

BANNERS - depending on the cost - 1 per state might get lost in the crowd at an event. Personally - I was thinking of a couple per committee person - this very much depends on cost. Size - was thinking about 1m x 0.5m -- or 1.2m x 0.6m - or something in this sort of range.

Haha - 2 member numbers for me - i must be a devoted ASSA member then!

Banners, 2/3 per state is really all you need isn't it?

I agree small banner would be nice. I was actually thinking some that we can put on the front of a table, and maybe be up above somewhere, for a ASSA display at races etc.
I do think the Start and Finish onces are a must for the Nationals and other events ASSA may run in various states.

In regads to the cards, the above onces are samples, and the writting for that purpose at the momentm only. What we need to decide is the look and than whats details will be on there. Thye are a starting point. If we want cards let's start working on them, or does anyone have any other samples?

re cards: I like the idea of the cards, I think it is important that the pic is screened back, the info is the important bit not the pic. Date should be 1 Jan - 31 Dec rather than 31/12-31/12. I would like to see ASSA mission statement on back to remind member what ASSA is for.
re banner(s): CSDC has start and finish banners (albeit with puppy chewed wind holes in now) I would think something like those vertical upside down teardrop shape things that are held stiff with a flexi rod would be good to put either side of start/finish banners or at race tent entrance or the like. POsition at the discretion of the race/rep

I didn't major in marketing so I will leave the banners up to the non colour blind.
    As far as the membership card goes, would you consider;

    Name: Andrew Gersbach
    Type: Family
    Covers: Lisa, Caleb
    Member #: 20
    Club: CSDC
    Expiry Date: 31-Dec-10

And a pretty picture of course. I think I can do the hard plastic coloured cards at work - but i will check.

Hi Guys. I really like the cards, but I would prefer to see a picture of our version of the sport (Dry Land), rather than snow. We need to create our own identity in Australia and promote what we do.

Card needs to be kept simple. So simple it will be easy to do a 100 of them at renewal time. If they are not kept simple then the whole thing will eventually phase out.

    On the sample above :
    a) not sure why need 2 lines: First name and surname. Can this be 1 line. Primary member, or something like this.

    b) If you have "Family Members", then do you really need "Type Family". This just seems like duplication and hence there is some redundancy.

    c) I do not understand the purpose of "Club". Can this be scrapped?

    d) There needs to have room on the card to include all members of a Family membership - some of these could be up to 4 or 5 people, in addition to Primary member.

What has not been anwsered yet, or not that I have seen. Will members names and numbers be Printed on the cards or hand written?
Lets look at this - Cards would need to be sent out be Secretary, Cards produced somewhere, laminating somewhere.

I agree with the cards, I like the cards, but I am just trying to understand HOW is this all going to work in reality.

when is committee meeting so we can put this all to bed?

    Thanks

    Happy to have PRIMARY MEMBER

I see it as an obvious way to capture information quickly and if we use a database for membership it will be easier to link data and payments.

Again a good way to trap data and see where our membership comes from.

The cards will be printed not hand written. If no one is able to do this then I will. All i will need is an accurate list.

Membership cards go to the members. So this "trap data" would need to be in the Membership list/database and may not be necessary on the cards

    thanks
